About
Natalie Gerene completed her training at The Institute for American Musical Theatre (IAMT) under the direction of Michael Minarik. In addition to acting, dancing, and singing, IAMT ignited her passion for improv. She enjoys performing long-form improv and uses these skills and character work in all other performance opportunities she has.
Natalie values athleticism highly. Growing up, she was a competitive gymnast, which gave her the skills to perform athletically and be daring with tricks and stunts while giving her a smooth transition into the dance world. She also currently trains in Taekwondo & Hapkido.
Through acting, dancing, singing, improv, gymnastics, taekwondo, etc. Natalie has worked hard at becoming a well rounded performer. She continues her training in all of these areas and is a strong believer in consistent work and growth. Ideally her career will continue to involve both stage and film work.
In addition to performing, she is passionate about American Sign Language and loves to be in projects where she can use ASL. Theater has become more accessible, principally since the Deaf West production of Spring Awakening, and she has found ASL to be an asset to her skill set.
Natalie’s goal as an actor is to tell stories with honesty. She values exploring the “could be” over a predetermined “should be” in life and in her art.
